Dance, Fun and Faith
Each week they are taught a character principle that we will focus on such as Virtue Ethics; Work Ethics; Health; Corporate Economics; Working Together in Community as Your Brother’s and Your Sister’s Keeper
How Does It Work?
Session 1: June 6 – 10: The Dance Biblical Basics: This session teaches how to apply biblical principles as they relates to dance and worship. They will learn about the prophets who danced and the terminologies and techniques they used for Warfare, Travail, Prophesy, Celebration, Praise and Worship.
For the first week session we ease the students into the arts by introducing different genres of dance, hip hop, arts, poetry, and mime. By giving them access to different styles, they are able to choose what best suits them and what they most want to learn.
Session 2: June 13 – June 17 : It’s The God In Me: During the second 2 week intensive camp, students build on the last session but Session 2 kicks it up a notch by focusing on technique, style, strength, balance, and execution. Students get to focus more on the styles they like the most, while still learning about the other styles.
Session 3: June 20 – 24 : Let’s Dance:
Okay, so now comes the exciting part: Choreography and Stage presence. During the third 3 week intensive camp, students take all the training and skills they learned in sessions 1 & 2 and begin learning choreography, stage placement, and set design. They will have opportunities to create choreography together, as well as write their own skits and one act plays!
Session 4: June 27 – July 1: Affirmation
June 30: Parents, this is the part you have been waiting for – Ministry time! During the last week session, the students rehearse and practice their routines and lines for their coming out. On Thursday, June 30, the students will put on a production including all that they have learned during the summer intensives. All of their hard work will shine through their GIFTS!
